Job Description:
Rakuten Rewards is looking for a DevOps Engineer in the Production Engineering (PE) organization. The PE organization in Rakuten Rewards is a DevOps Discipline with a mission of delivering innovative, automated, self-service infrastructure using cost effective technologies to meet the objectives of autonomous product development teams (Tribes & Squads).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work with the team to design and implement Infrastructure as a Code (IaC) GitOps workflow with Terraform in a secure, robust and scalable way.
  • Improve the infrastructure automation to shorten lead time for changes.
  • Works with the team to define and implement policy as code to improve the quality and security of Kubernetes and Terraform code.
  • Works with the team to design and implement Infrastructure Testing Framework.
  • Works with the team to design and implement common Terraform modules.
  • Identify process improvements and opportunities for automation.
  • Available for on-call rotation schedule.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be passionate about learning, automation, challenge the status quo and develop innovative solutions to solve business problems.
  • Sound principles of web technologies, large scale operations intuition, understanding of highly available and performant system cloud architecture.
  • Working knowledge in CloudFormation, Terraform or similar to provision infrastructure using code.
  • Basic knowledge/experience in Linux fundamentals and scripting
  • Familiar with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions
  • Golang or python programming skill is a plus.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field of study.
  • 1+ year(s) of experience as full-time employee or 6+ months of experience as intern in DevOps team
  • 1+ year(s) working experience in one of AWS, GCP or Azure Cloud platform, or AWS cloud certification.
  • Experience in Terraform is a plus
  • Experience in Python/Golang programming is a plus
